Red River Waterway Strategic Plan recognized by LA American Planning Association

Natchitoches, Louisiana … The Red River Waterway Commission Status Report & Strategic Plan has won an Outstanding Planning Award for a Strategic Plan by the Louisiana American Planning Association.

Facilitated by The Shaw Group in 2007, the plan ensures that all long-term financial issues are being effectively managed by the Commission and provides a direction for future meeting standards and expectations. It also identifies major economic goals and objectives relative to the Red River. These include port and channel improvements as well as the deepening of the channel itself.

The award will be presented at LAAPA’s awards luncheon Thursday, October 15th during their annual convention at the Natchitoches Events Center. Members of the Commission will be present to accept the award.
