New recreation improvements underway in Red River Waterway District

Natchitoches, Louisiana … The Red River Waterway Commission is beginning construction on 2 new recreation improvements in the Red River Waterway District.

A floating boat dock, playground and walking trail will be built at the Boyce Recreation Area. The boat launch will remain open during construction.

The Commission is also building a dock along the bank of the river and widening the boat launch at the Brouillette Recreation Area.  Citizens can expect the boat launch to be closed for a 60-day period during construction. We advise citizens to use a boat launch at other facilities during this time.

A press release will be issued when the Brouillette boat launch closes, which is expected sometime during November.
